The EU Investigative Journalism Award 2024 has officially concluded, honoring the most impactful investigative work from the Western Balkans and Türkiye.

Association of Journalists held a training camp in Sığacık (İzmir,) on investigative journalism for 10 young journalists in İzmir between 25-29 September.

On October 5 in Europe House in Sarajevo, the winners of the Regional EU Awards for Best Investigative Journalism were announced. BIRN’s journalist Sasa Dragojlo was among the winners.

On September 21 in Europe House in Tirana, the winners of the EU Awards for Investigative Awards for Investigative Journalism in Albania were announced.

On September 20 in Prishtina’s Kino Armata, the winners of the EU Awards for Investigative Awards for Investigative Journalism were announced.

Jelena Zoric and Sasa Dragojlo won prestigious EU investigative reporting awards for their stories on clinical trials and arms exports respectively.

Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) invites media from six Western Balkans countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia) to become host media in the One-Month Regional Exchange Programme during 2023 and/or 2024. This programme is a unique opportunity that will allow both parties to share their expertise in investigative news production and foster knowledge exchange.

BIRN Kosovo has opened a new call for applications for its first two-day training course on investigative reporting and fact-checking, as part of the EU-funded project ‘Strengthening Quality News and Independent Journalism in the Western Balkans and Turkey II’.
