The call for the first Training Camp for Young Journalists from Türkiye and Western Balkans is now open!

The Association of Journalists, AoJ, in its capacity as partner in the project ‘Strengthening Quality Journalism in Western Balkans and Türkiye’, announces the call for young journalists interested in participating in the Training Camp for Young Journalists.

Young journalists from Türkiye and the Western Balkans are invited to apply to a five-day training camp organised in Izmir, Türkiye. The Training Camp is open to journalists from Türkiye and the Western Balkans under the age of 45, who are Journalism/Communication graduates (priority group) or have worked as journalists for at least two years (priority group), either freelance or as staff of a media organisation. Female applicants will be prioritised.

The Training Camp is designed to provide vocational training and the opportunity to produce original news content. Among other things, participants will learn about data visualisation, audience behaviour and engagement, and constructive, solution-based approaches to creating local stories. Participants who have completed the training course will be eligible to test their acquired skills and knowledge through implementation of micro-projects.
