BIRN will facilitate the development of a masters programme in investigative journalism together with its partners, the Central European University and University of Goce Delchev, aiming to secure the long-term and sustainable education of future generations of journalists in the Western Balkans. BIRN Kosovo held a three-day training course on investigative journalism and fact-checking with regional and international experts in Skopje, North Macedonia from October 13 to 15. On September 20 in Prishtina’s Kino Armata, the winners of the EU Awards for Investigative Awards for Investigative Journalism were announced. Jelena Zoric and Sasa Dragojlo won prestigious EU investigative reporting awards for their stories on clinical trials and arms exports respectively. Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) invites media from six Western Balkans countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia) to become host media in the One-Month Regional Exchange Programme during 2023 and/or 2024. This programme is a unique opportunity that will allow both parties to share their expertise in investigative news production and foster knowledge exchange.
